The Applied Photonics Group (APG) has well equipped labs with modern equipment such as Raman confocal microscope (Renishaw inVia), optical fibre drawing facility, Femtosecond lasers (Spectra Physics Mai Tai HP), Nanosecond Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (EKSPLA NL30HL), supercontimuum light sources (Leukos, Energetiq LDLS), Dye laser (Spectra physics Duo220), Ultrafast Streak Camera (Hamamatsu), Pulse selector (Spectra physics 3980), Frequency doubling unit (Radiantis Inspire Blue), spectrophotometers (visible and infrared regions), Vibration-controlled optical tables, optical network analyzers, wavelength meters, BERT systems, OTDRs, several fusion splicers, etc. In addition, in the Faculty of Engineering, where the APG is located, there are also a large variety of general purpose research premises such as atomic force microscope, electron microscope, confocal microscopes, chemistry labs, electronic and mechanical shops, etc.
